Board update

Our chairman, Arjan Verburg, has sent the July 2026 board update to all members.

The holiday period

The holiday period has begun again.

For our youth players, this means that the Monday and Thursday training sessions are suspended.
These sessions will resume on Monday 24 August and Thursday 27 August.
John Scott will start his training sessions on Wednesday 19 August for those players who have signed up for them.

For league players taking part in the 2026 autumn youth league, there is an extra opportunity during the summer break.
During this period, they can train with the seniors.
This is possible on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm.
Please note: these extra training sessions are intended for league players only.

For the senior players, this means that until 24 August, the hall will not open until 19:45 on Mondays and Thursdays.

And for the super-seniors (55+),  , the Friday session has been moved to 10.30–12.00.
Please note: this applies only on 10 July and 14 August, and on Fridays in between.
There are no changes to the Monday sessions.

You can find all opening hours HERE.

We wish everyone a lovely holiday period!

The club does not rent out tables!

People sometimes want to hire a table from our club to play for an hour or an evening.
This is not possible because the playing facilities are for our members only.

4th edition of the TTV Amstelveen Open a success

On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June, the 4th edition of the TTV Amstelveen Open was held, a tournament for members of table tennis clubs from across the Netherlands.
Middelburg, Groningen, Limburg and, of course, Amstelveen – participants came from far and wide.
Last year it was over 30 degrees outside; this time, the weather was a little kinder at 17 degrees.

On Saturday, the youth competition kicked off at 09.30, with no fewer than 120 boys and girls having registered.
There were five categories for singles and three for doubles, so everyone got to play plenty of matches.
The matches were played with great enthusiasm but in a sporting manner, and many matches went to a decisive fifth game.
Nevertheless, the tournament ran quite smoothly and the prizes were presented just after 7.00 pm.

On Sunday, it was the ladies’ and men’s turn; with no fewer than 144 players, the tournament was fully booked and matches were played in six singles and four doubles categories.
Here too, there were plenty of hard-fought and thrilling matches; the final was decided by a score of 16–14 in the fifth game.
Due to all the long matches, the tournament ran a little over time, but by 8.30 pm all the prizes had been awarded.
Once again, the Club Prize went to Amstelveen, and thanks to this third victory, they get to keep the challenge cup!

No tournament without volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who helped unload and load the equipment, set up or dismantle the sports hall, acted as hall marshals or first-aiders,
or entered the results on match days.
Special thanks to Joke Wijker and Brian van den Heuvel for organising the tournament
and to Guus Korper and Ben Rigter for their help throughout the weekend.

The tournament was a great success, as evidenced by the many positive comments from participants and parents/carers.
We hope to see you next year!
